Where do I find resources for how to administer the test?
Resources for administering the assessment are available in the DRC INSIGHT Portal. Go to My Applications > General Information > Documents > Texas Specific Resources (under Document Type). Additionally, Professional Learning courses are available for users on DRC INSIGHT Portal.
What trainings are available?
DRC offers the following options for training:
- In-person and webinar trainings every summer at each of the Regional Service Centers
- Professional Learning courses found in the DRC INSIGHT Portal
- Statewide webinars every July and August
- Paid LEA personalized training (pricing is provided on the Additional Services Order Form)
What is the Texas Tuesday Newsletter and how do I sign up?
The Texas Tuesday newsletter is sent quarterly to all DRC INSIGHT Portal users in Texas. It includes important updates, EB student identification program information, and resources for Texas educators and families. It is also posted on our website at www.laslinks.com/texas and under the Teacher and Family Resources tab.
The listserv of recipients are DRC INSIGHT Portal Users. DRC pulls the list of recipients of the newsletter directly from DRC's INSIGHT Portal the day before the newsletter (or any communication) is distributed. To be included on this list, be sure that you are a District, School or Test Administrator user in the portal.
Can we use LAS Links at other times of the school year to check EB student language development progress?
Yes! LAS Links offers additional forms in English and Spanish for interim progress monitoring. These forms support many LEA initiatives throughout the year such as:
- Monitoring English and Spanish language development (SB 560, CBLI, TX Effective DLI Framework)
- LOTE Credit
- Credit by Examination and Spanish Course Placement
- Program Evaluation (89.1265 (b)(2))
- Teacher Incentive Allotment (HB1)
- School Improvement
- Summer School (TAC 89.1250 (d)(7))
