DRC INSIGHT Portal Enhancements
On November 9, 2026, DRC INSIGHT Portal users (LAS Links Online and PreLAS Online) will unlock an enhanced Student Management and Test Management interface — faster, more intuitive, and built to make your work easier from the moment you log in.
To make the switch, there will be a brief pause in testing from October 31 through November 8, 2026.
Training and resources: to help you get comfortable with the new interface before launch, we'll be offering training webinars along with additional support materials. Scroll down to the “Upcoming Training Events” section to sign up for the upcoming October training webinars. In addition to the training webinars, DRC is providing these resources so you're ready on launch day:
- Online Help in the NEW! LAS Links Knowledge Hub
- This new resource provides quick access to support articles and step-by-step guidance on how to navigate the new enhanced features.
- Coming soon: A pre-recorded training video. When ready, this training video will be posted as a resource in two places, the Documents > Texas Specific Resources section of the DRC INSIGHT Portal as well as within both the PreLAS Online and LAS Links Online Professional Learning Courses.

PreLAS Temporary Testing Solution
DRC will post the PreLAS temporary testing solution to the DRC INSIGHT Portal from October 31, 2026 to November 8, 2026. Click HERE
for instructions on how to find the temporary PreLAS assessment solution. In addition to this temporary testing solution, we will also post in the portal, a DRC created “Test Date Statement” that school systems may use if needed. This document affirms the actual test date of the student since the date reflected on the PreLAS Online Student Proficiency Report will reflect the date the student responses were entered into the portal, not the date the student was assessed with the temporary testing solution.

Please note: These trainings are strictly for Test Administrators and will focus on how to navigate enrolling students and creating registrations (test sessions) in the enhanced applications. These are not technology training sessions.

LAS Links Assessments and Resources that Support Texas School Systems’ Program Goals & Students’ Language Development
LAS Links goes beyond EB student identification by providing additional assessments and resources that support monitoring of English and Spanish language development and data driven instructional planning while maintaining a key DRC core value: Prioritizing real-word teacher-led language learning. Not test prep. Not screen time..

Requirement: (III) Achieve proficiency in both English and a language other than English as demonstrated by scores of proficient or higher in the reading and speaking domains on language proficiency or achievement tests in both languages
- LAS Links Español interim assessment: provides the two domains of Hablando and Lectura to meet Spanish language proficiency requirements
- LAS Links English interim assessment: may be used in lieu of waiting for TELPAS scores to meet the English Speaking and Reading requirement.
Spanish Course Placement

- LAS Links Español Form B is an option that LEAs may use to be sure that students are placed with accuracy and fidelity in Spanish I-VI courses.
- Research-Based Placement – Developed through extensive research and educator focus groups, DRC has created a research study that has aligned LAS Links Español Form B student assessment outcomes with ACTFL proficiency levels and TEKS expectations
- Clear Placement Guidance – The DRC research study provides an easy-to-use cross walk between LAS Links Español achieved scores and recommended cut scores for Spanish I–IV placement and Credit by Examination (CBE).
- Easy Implementation – Administered through DRC INSIGHT, the platform already used by Texas LEAs for Emergent Bilingual student identification, making implementation seamless.

LAS Links has been approved by the TEA as a growth measure in Texas under Texas Education Code (TEC), 48.112 (Teacher Incentive Allotment).

- DRC offers additional forms of LAS Links to be used for interim testing while providing a research-based growth study allowing LEAs to set realistic and achievable growth targets using LAS Links data.
- LAS Links Online reporting provides longitudinal data allowing stakeholders to easily monitor student growth to meet the reporting requirements of the TIA.
- DRC has developed robust professional development designed to engage stakeholders to develop instructional strategies specific to domain and composite growth target needs (by student/by cohort) as determined by the district while investigating trends and outcomes from previous administrations (met/missed growth targets).
